Halloween 2009!

My lil' magician!

Deke was his cute self for Halloween :)

My mom dressed as a "good" witch
Heather and Shaun as Dorothy and Scarecrow!
David dressed as "awesome-o" from South Park. I guess.
A pumpkin that Shaun carved.
Deke carved this one. Its Jack from The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Another one of Heather and Shaun's, a kitty :)
Deke's creation, Count Dracula! He did a great job!

I made these Frankenstein brownie pops for Tyler's soccer game.
They took FOREVER to make!
David returned from New York on Halloween. He had hitch-hiked there (from Cali) back in August. Tyler was SO excited to see him!

Deke had to hand out candy in his turn-outs at the Town Center Harvest Festival.

Tyler took full advantage lol

Deke and Tyler deciding how to carve the pumpkins

Deke came home Halloween morning after a 24 hour shift at the fire department and jumped right into carving pumpkins. What a stud!

APPLE HILL!!!!!

We go to apple hill every year, its a fun place up in the Camino area with tons of farms you can visit. We always check out High Hill ranch which has a great restaurant, lake, pumpkin patch, apple orchards, and tons of crafts. We also visited one of the smaller ranches which had a petting zoo and walking trail. It was a beautiful day and we had a ton of fun!

Tyler's family birthday party!

I am kinda ashamed to say that Tyler had 3 birthday parties this year. I know, he's WAY too spoiled but I guess that's what happens when he has so much family. The first party was with his friends, the second was with his dad and family, and the third was with my family. Here are the pictures of our family party :)
Tyler shaved for the occasion

I tried something new this year and made GIGANTIC cupcakes, I thought they turned out pretty cute.
I made homemade pizza for dinner, YUM!

MAKE A WISH!

He really wanted to put his face in the cake.

Yummy Dinner

Basil-Orange Pineapple Chicken
I made this for dinner last night and it was so yummy that I thought I would share the recipe. Try it out and let me know what you think!

Basil-Orange Pineapple Chicken

1 medium fresh pineapple
1 tsp butter
4 skinless, boneless chicken breasts
1 tsp vegetable oil
1 small red bell pepper thinly sliced
½ cup frozen pineapple orange juice concentrate – thawed
½ cup white wine
2 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp onion powder
½ tsp cornstarch
1/2cup minced fresh basil leaves
½ tsp black pepper
2 oranges peeled and sliced (opt)

Twist crown from pineapple. Cut pineapple in half lengthwise. Refrig. other half. Cut fruit from shell, then crosswise into thin slices. In nonstick skillet, saute pineapple in butter until lightly browned. Remove.

Pound chicken lightly until even thickness. Season with salt. Brown chicken in oil. Cover, simmer 6 minutes, remove.

Saute red pepper in same pan. Combine juice concentrate, wine, mustard, onion powder and cornstarch; stir until blended. Add to pan. Cook, stirring, until sauce boils and thickens. Add chicken, basil and black pepper to sauce. Spoon sauce over. Add oranges; heat through. Place pineapple slices on platter, put chicken on top, spoon sauce with red peppers over chicken. Add oranges if you want.

Tyler's First Soccer Game!

Tyler hated going to his practices so I was convinced this was going to be a HUGE waste of money. However, once he started playing his games he started to love the sport! He played so well and made 3 goals that day. Hallelujah its not going to be a waste of money after all!
