Christmas Vacation 2008

This year I decided that Tyler was old enough ( and tall enough ) to go to Disney Land. We stayed in Carlsbad for one week and visited Disney Land, San Diego Zoo, the beach, and the Natural History Museum. It was tons of fun and the only complaint that I have is that Tyler wasn't tall enough for the Indiana Jones ride. Total garbage! But he was tall enough for every other ride and loved all the fast ones! I loaded tons of pictures so I'm keeping the verbage to a minimun. To see more pictures check out my facebook!
Disney Land Fun!
Mr. Muscles
The tea cups were closed most of the day because they were filming a movie on them. I was happy when they opened them so I could get it out of my system, I LOVE the Tea Cups!

OK, so I REALLY didn't want to get wet...see how hard I tied to stay dry? Um yeah, I still got drenched, thanks everyone for making me sit in the front!

Tigger was the first character that we found, see how excited Tyler was? After we left Tyler said, "Mom, I think that was a person wearing a costume". I had no idea what he was talking about ;-)
I just couldn't get over how gorgeous New Orleans Square looked all decorated for Christmas!

BEACH FILLED FUN!
Tyler talked 3 different surfers into giving him lessons. Thank goodness for cute dimples!
What a babe!
Muscle mania!

We want to pump you up!
I love the patterns in the sand...look how pretty!

We need a shirt that says "WE look awesome"!

I always wanted a pet monkey

Grrr.......

A late Thanksgiving post

I hope everyone had a wonderful and feast full Thanksgiving! My Thanksgiving was with a smaller bunch than normal, thanks to all the siblings who think its cool to move out of state...you know who you are. But nonetheless it was a great day. We started off by going to the Folsom Zoo to see the animals receive their Thanksgiving feast. This is my yearly tradition with Tyler and we never miss it. After that we came home and enjoyed a quiet afternoon playing scrabble and watching "Hook". We had dinner around 4 and of course it was yuuuuummy! It was also my sisters birthday so we had to combine Thanksgiving with birthday party, you know what that means? Lots of dessert!!! I made the pies this year and I was quite proud of myself, as I have never made pie before. Gotta love the Holiday season..and now its time to prepare for Christmas! Dang, how did it come so fast!?!

Twilight let down!

If any of you have read my blog it was made clear that I was a HUGE Twilight fan. As you all know the movie came out in theaters on November 21st. I was in line by 10:00pm Thursday night with some friends waiting for the midnight show. We were let in early to find our seats and just sat and waited patiently for 2 hours. As the lights dimmed our excitement grew, it was now time to see the movie that started out as the best book ever! It only took about 10 minutes to realize that I was about to sit through a 2 hour movie made of complete Cheese with a capitol C!!! It was quite possibly the worst movie I have seen all year. It didn't follow the book AT ALL, there was no character development, there were no explanations for anything (which really confused the friends who had not read the book), the acting was appalling, and oh did I mention it was Cheesy! We were laughing at scene that weren't meant to be funny, the cheese was just comical! Whats even more atrocious to me is that Stephanie Meyer was heavily involved with the making of the film. How could she allow such an abomination to enter the theater? If you haven't seen the movie already spare yourself the time and money, its 2 hours of your life that you won't get back! I just hope that they do a better job with New Moon!!!

A Tyler Day!

Because I work so dang hard I decided to take Friday off to spend with Tyler. We slept in nice and long and then made some yummy chocolate chip pancakes (his favorite). We then got ready and headed out for the Sacramento Zoo, Yay! I had been telling him all the while that we were going to see the new penguin exhibit and we were all really excited about that. We got there and walked around for a while and saw no penguins. So we looked at the zoo map and guess what? No penguins! I thought maybe they hadn't updated the maps yet so Deke went and asked a zoo worker if there even was a penguin exhibit. We were then informed that there WAS a penguin exhibit but they took it out some time ago. Disappointment! Well, Tyler really didn't care too much but I did! The zoo worker preceded to tell us that we could see 4 of the penguins that were in the exhibit at the San Francisco Zoo....oh goodie. I'm taking Tyler to the San Diego Zoo in December so he will just have wait until then to see some penguins (OK, I will have to wait). After we got our fill of the stinky zoo animals, we went to Costco for some lunch. Gotta love polish hot dogs and soda for $1.50! Our last activity of the day was going to see the play "Annie", put on by the El Dorado County theater. We all really enjoyed it and thought that the kids did an amazing job. It would have been better if Tyler wasn't snorting the whole time...don't ask me why, the kid is weird sometimes. I think in the end Tyler had a great day. Being a working mother can be very difficult and I cherish days like this one!

Halloween!

Tyler was with his father this Halloween so my friends and I decided to parrrrrty! Sara's little boy was also with his dad and as you can tell we took advantage of this temporary freedom. We got all dolled up in our costumes (which took hours!) and then headed out to meet friends at the Spaghetti Factory for dinner. Even though it was Halloween we still got several strange looks going into a restaurant in our costumes....its not that weird is it? I didn't think it was but anyways, the meal was great and so was the company. Although, I'm really kicking myself for not getting any pictures at dinner. Oops! The party was at someones house who we didn't know and there were TONS of people there. It was raining outside so everyone had to cram into the living area along with the D.J. and try to make due. The house was extremely hot and humid as I'm sure you can tell from the picture directly below. The hair which Sara and I spent forever and an eternity on was flat within the hour....this was NO BUENO! Despite the flat hair and sweaty bodies we had an enjoyable evening full of dancing, laughing, and good ol' fashion fun! I'm glad Sara and I got it out of our systems because next Halloween we will be trick-or-treating with the kids and eating waaaaay too much candy. Can't wait! ;-)
