Camp Richardson, Lake Tahoe!

We try to go camping at least once a year and this year we thought we'd check out Camp Richardson in Lake Tahoe. I had driven past it many times but had never actually been there. The campsites were super nice and clean and they had showers! I was really excited about the showers. Deke and I drove up of Friday morning before everyone else so we could enjoy a hike together. We hiked Eagle Falls all the way up to Eagle Lake. I had heard of it before but this was our first time hiking it. I couldn't believe that I have been to Tahoe several times a year since I was a kid and never had been there before. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL! After that we met up with everyone to set up camp. It was a blast and I hope we can do it again soon!

On our hike...

We really enjoyed seeing all the wild life up at Eagle Lake.

Deke bought an old 35mm Nikon camera and we took the opportunity to compare his and mine. I just have a simple Nikon digital, here are the results... this first one is from my camera

This second one is from his, (I think mine is better) hehe...

Enjoying Eagle Lake!

This lake was so clean and pure, I just wanted to jump in!

There Deke is with his new camera..

Camp fire time!

Here's Tyler throwing a fit. I don't even remember what it was about.

Saturday morning cartoons on the Ipod!

Fishing in the Tahoe Keys. We were told it was better than fishing in the lake but we still didn't catch anything.

Here is their attempt to fish in Emerald Bay and again, no luck.

Admiring Emerald Bay

And we couldn't camp at Camp Richardson without stopping at their famous ice cream shop!

This bad boy was mine and quite delicious!

I'm going to admit right now that I threw most of the sundae in the trash. I couldn't handle it!

Labor Day 2010

On Labor Day this year Tyler participated in a parade at the Diamond Springs Country Bazaar. He's in an after school program called The Boys and Girls Club and they were put in charge of the parade this year. Tyler arrived a few hours early so he could assist in painting the horse and preparing the float. It was a pretty rink-a-dink parade but Tyler had so much fun, he loved being on the float and throwing candy at the crowds. After the parade fun we headed home for our traditional BBQ and swim. It was a good day! (but then again, any day that I'm not working and spending time with my family is a good day! :))

A Special Day

I know this is a little late coming but I always put off the posts I know will take a long time. On July 31, 2010 Deke and I were sealed in the Sacramento Temple for time and eternity. It was a very special experience that we will treasure forever. We had an awesome sealer who said some very special and powerful things. One thing that sticks out in my head was when he said to "Love your spouse more than you love yourself" and to say that you love them millions of times throughout your marriage. What great council. It was the most ideal way to spend our 1 year anniversary and to rap it up we had a reception at my parents house. We did that because when we got married we didn't have a wedding or reception. Instead of doing all the celebration on the front end, like tradition, we did it all on the back end. We felt it was more important to recognize the sealing anyways rather that the civil marriage.
The pictures below are temple pictures taken one week prior to the sealing, pictures after the sealing, and a few of the reception.
