Congratulations, Deke! I have a good friend who has been through two firefighter academies and is now on with the EDH fire dept., so I know how rigorous the training can be. Way to go.

Congrats to Deke! But, finally? How long is fire academy, really? You haven't even known Deke long enough to have any complaints about how long he's been in fire academy.
I mean...try enduring a husband in grad school for 5 years! ;-)
haha ok Amy, you got me there. It really wasn't that long but the time spent in the academy was rigorous. The only time I really saw him he was passed out on the floor :( but those days are over, yay!
Lisa, who's your friend? I wonder if Deke knows him?
Him? Actually, it's a her (he he.) Her name is Lisa Perillo. I think she was one of the two women who graduated the academy about 2 years ago.
I had to laugh at your comment about Deke being passed out on the floor. My friend Lisa was there!
